Lil Wayne Officially Joins Instagram & Posts His First Picture

There have been plenty of fake Instagram accounts pretending to be Lil Wayne over the past couple of years, but if you didn’t know, he has now registered an official account on the social media website .
Even though the account has been up for weeks (even I remember following it in early February), Weezy only confirmed this news on Twitter a few days ago. He also made his first post just a few hours ago, which was the photo above of him, Marley G and N.O. Capo with the caption “Wooooop”.

Ongoing power crisis: Relief to come in 330megawatts this June

Managers of the Takoradi International Company (TICO) plant in the Aboadze Thermal Enclave say the 330MW of power expected from their power plants by end of June will lead to an improvement in the current power crisis.
Speaking during a visit to the Aboadze Enclave on Thursday by President John Dramani Mahama, the Managing Director of TICO, Nana Osafo Kantanka, said the company is currently generating only 105 megawatts from its second gas turbine (SC 2).
The other turbine, SC 1, which has a capacity of 110MW, has been shut down for maintenance. The other plant in the enclave managed by VRA's TAPCo is producing an average of about 250MW.
According to Nana Kantanka, the SC 1 turbine is undergoing total refurbishment and rehabilitation to transform it into a "virtually brand new machine, which will take us the journey of another 25 years."
He announced that work is almost 95% complete on the new steam turbine under construction, from which another 110MW is expected.
"On behalf of the workforce of TAQA, TAPCo, VRA and all our partners, we are committing that come the end of June 2015, TICO will be producing 330MW of power", the TICO Managing Director announced.
In his remarks, President Mahama said gas is now available in the Aboadze enclave from Ghana Gas, and expressed the hope that when all the maintenance work is completed, "and both TICO and TAPCo are working properly, there will be enough gas to fuel them, so that there will be reliable service."
President Mahama said when the ongoing repair works on plants in both Tema and Takoradi are completed, and gas is also available, there would be an increase in supply to keep up with the fast growing demand for electricity.
President Mahama also inspected the site for the systems to be installed for the 250MW Ameri-Energy/ APR emergency power badge.

Man defiles 9-year-old girl in toilet

Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) of the Ghana Police Service at Community Two, Tema, has apprehended a 63-year-old man for allegedly defiling a 9- year-old girl in a toilet. Joseph Doku, a driver who resides in the Community, was said to have taken advantage of the blackout experienced in the area to unleash his libido on the primary four girl in the toilet.
      The mother of the victim, according to a DOVVSU source, had noticed that whenever the daughter went to use the toilet, the 63-year-old man also went in to use the facility as they share the same washroom.
       The source told DAILY GUIDE that on Monday, March 16, 2015 around 8pm, the mother of the victim could not find her daughter in the house and decided to look for her. She repetitively shouted the name of the daughter in a bid to locate her only for the suspect to respond from the toilet that he had sent the little girl to go and buy him credit to top up what he had on his mobile telephone.
        Victim’s mother realized that her daughter was in the bathroom and quickly asked her to come out. The girl came out and upon interrogation, narrated her ordeal to her mother. She confessed that Joseph Doku had kept her in the toilet and was having sexual intercourse with her whiles she (mother) was looking for her.        According to the minor, after the sex, the suspect opened the toilet door and asked her to sneak into the bathroom.
      She further revealed that it was not the first time the suspect had penetrated her but rather the fourth time.
      The woman did not hesitate to lodge a complaint with the DOVVSU in the area. Medical form was issued to the mother for the victim to take to the hospital for treatment and examination.
       The medical form was returned and duly endorsed by a medical officer confirming the act. Joseph Doku was later apprehended and was said to have admitted the offence in his caution statement to the police. “Yes I had sex with her in the toilet but it was the work of the devil,” he is reported as stating. He further added that he was influenced to defile the girl after he had taken in some alcoholic beverage. The police had concluded their investigations, according to the source, and the suspect would soon be arraigned before court.

British woman found dead in hotel

The Daily Guide newspaper has reported that a female British national has been found dead in a room at Mac-Dic Royal Plaza Hotel in Koforidua, the Eastern regional capital.

The deceased is said to have died in the bathroom.

Information gathered by Daily Guide indicates that the woman checked into the hotel with her Ghanaian husband - a pastor, on 16 March, 2015 and was scheduled to check out on 21 March, 2015.

Reports claimed that the pastor, whose name was not yet known as at press time yesterday, was invited from the United Kingdom (UK) for a three-day revival programme by a church in Koforidua.

He reportedly left the wife in the hotel room the following day and allegedly told the workers not to disturb his wife; so until she called for their services they should not enter her room.

Sources at the hotel told Daily Guide that the officials of the hotel were compelled to force open the door of the room after the time for her checked out had elapsed, only to find the lifeless body of the British lady in the bathroom.

Police Reaction

The pastor has been arrested by the police to assist in investigations.

The Eastern Regional Police Public Affairs Director, ASP Nketia Yeboah, confirmed the incident to Daily Guide when contacted, but declined further comments, adding that the case had been taken over by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service in Accra.

Hotel’s Cooperation

The Chief Executive Officer of Mac-Dic Royal Plaza Hotel, Nana Agyei Twinin, told Daily Guide that the hotel was cooperating with the police to investigate the incident.

He further hinted that the hotel was ready to provide the necessary evidence to unveil the truth.

The body of the deceased has been taken to the Police Hospital in Accra by the Homicide Unit of the Ghana Police Service for postmortem

Passenger dies over 20p change

A 35-year-old man died instantly last week at Ashaiman, near Tema, when he fell from a commercial vehicle he was hanging on to demand a change of 20 pesewas. The deceased, Razak Abdul Salifu, who resides at Newtown, a suburb of Ashaiman, was said to have disagreed with the driver, William Owusu, over the actual change due him after paying the fare. When Salifu got down from the vehicle, he decided to hang onto it in an attempt to put pressure on the driver's mate for the 20 pesewas changed allegedly due him. However, the driver reportedly sped off with the victim hanging onto the vehicle's driving mirror. Salifu fell off and hit his head on the road. He died shortly after his body was deposited at the Tema General Hospital. His body has since been released to the family for burial. The driver subsequently reported himself to the Ashaiman police and is currently assisisting with investigations. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Afari Kwame Gyasi, Commander in-charge of the Ashaiman MTTD, told the Daily Guide the driver said the incident occurred on February 7, 2015 at about 10:45 pm when the deceased boarded his vehicle from the Madina Lorry Park in Accra to Ashaiman. DSP Gyasi said there had been a minor altercation between the deceased and driver before the disagreement over the 20p change ensued -

Plane carrying 150 people from Spain to Germany crashes in France

An Airbus plane operated by Lufthansa's Germanwings budget airline carrying 144 passengers and 6 crew crashed in southern France this morning. The airbus A320 was flying from Barcelona, Spain to Duesseldorf, Germany when it disappeared from radar in the Alpes de Hautes Provence after sending a distress signal at 10.47am local time.

Everyone on board is feared dead after debris from the plane was found scattered over a wild area near Barcelonnette hours later. The cause of the crash is not yet known
