The Queen of England makes history


On the 9th of September 2015, the Queen of England - Elizabeth Alexandra Mary - 89. will enter the history books as the longest serving British queen ever. She'll be passing the record set by her great-grandmother, Queen Victoria who Buckingham Palace has calculated reigned for 23,226 days, 16 hours and 23 minutes.

Nigerian Army reinstates 2,500 soldiers and 102 officers


Over 2,500 soldiers who were dismissed or asked to withdraw from service for refusing to fight Boko Haram and other counter-insurgency offenses have been recalled by the Nigerian army. 102 officers who were facing prosecution over their involvement or lack of involvement in the fight against Boko Haram, have also been re-instated. They were re-instated by a panel set up by the Army last week.
The soldiers and officers are now retraining at the Nigerian Army Training Centre, Kontangora, Niger State

Buhari is still behaving like a military dictator- Afenifere chairman says


The Chairman of Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere, Pa Reuben Fasoranti says President Buhari is still behaving like a military dictator since assuming office on May 29th. He said this while addressing newsmen in Akure, Ondo state over the weekend.

Help in the fight against corruption- Buhari appeals to lawyers


President Buhari yesterday appealed to lawyers in Nigeria to assist in his administrations fight against corruption. President Buhari who made the appeal while speaking at the 55th Annual General Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, in Abuja, said corruption is the main reason why Nigeria is where it is at the moment.

Graphic photos: Cousins ambushed & killed by Fulani herdsmen in Plateau

Cousins Ibrahim Nyam and Jimmy Pam were ambushed and killed by suspected Fulani herdsmen as  they were heading to Jos from Barkin Ladi last week. According to family sources, the Fulani herdsmen attacked the men and left them in the pool of their blood. Both men were married and had children. The rate of attacks in that area has been on the rise. Something needs to be done fast. May their souls rest in peace.
